The Palestinian Circus School is a non-profit, non-governmental organization, established in 2006 and registered with the Palestinian Authority since February 2007. It teaches circus in Birzeit and in other cities like Jenin, Hebron, Ramallah and Al Fara refugee camp.
Our goal is to overcome the divisions within our society by working with everybody, everywhere. Bringing people together in our trainings and traveling all over the country with our shows, is challenging the multiple boundaries that have been imposed on us for far too long: political, geographical, economical, religious and gender.
The Palestinian Circus School encourages the development of a new form of cultural expression, and a new generation of artists in Palestine. An art form that is dynamic, experimental and aimed at challenging traditional perceptions of arts and artistic interaction.
The design for the 2020 festival can be a series of designs and posters playfully made to reflect various movements in a modern design style. Different designs can be used for different items such as the poster, banner, facebook ... etc, while maintaining a general one that contains all performers. Thus, we escape the traditional poster design for festivals and achieve a successful and unique concept for the poster away from what we normally see for festivals.
Another approach is by closing up on the dancers or performers to create an interesting visual composition. Again, various designs can be used for various layouts. Circus is a unique form of performing and so it deserves a unique approach to design. With this design, the Palestinian Circus Festival 2020 will be able to stand out uniquely from pervious design or other designs for different festival in the local scene.
By focusing on the shape of the movement, another approach was made by creating a "pattern" from a specific movement. Along with a minimal composition, the pattern can be fused with various colors creating different samples. With this approach, the pattern palette can be even broaden more by illustrating other performing moves and mixing various patterns together.
